Declaration of the VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association
Information technology provides agriculture with new possibilities of optimising processes, increasing profitability, and better environmental and consumer protection. Uninterrupted data transfer and -processing as well as the compatibility of systems from different manufacturers are essential prerequisites for this development. The VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association and its member companies recognised this years ago and took the initiative with regard to this topic of the future with a lot of energy and commitment.
The companies mentioned in this brochure use the progress of international standardization (ISO 11783) and the AGRITECHNICA 2001 as an opportunity to make the following common statement with regard to the introduction and use of the BUS system for data transfer between tractor, implement, and PC according to ISO 11783 (www.iso.ch)
- These companies have agreed to co-operate in the development and introduction of BUS systems for data transfer between tractor, implement, and PC.
- The goal is the uniform application of the international standard ISO 11783.
Step by step, the product programs will be adapted to ISO 11783. The AGRITECHNICA 2001 is considered the beginning of this common pursuit. - The term 'ISOBUS' is exclusively used for machines and systems which conform to the commonly defined Implementation Level 1 of ISO 11783.
- Hardware configurations with a job computer and a terminal can be adapted to ISO 11783 and thus provide secure perspectives for the future.
